2. Information we collect
- Account and contact information: such as your name, email address and account identifiers.
- Location information: precise or approximate device location when you enable location features, used to identify nearby parking zones, support active parking sessions and provide relevant alerts.
- Parking and transaction information: parking sessions, zones, times, vehicle or booking details, receipts and subscription status.
- Photos, camera and media: images you choose to capture or upload, such as parking signs or evidence connected with a parking session.
- Payment information: payments are processed by authorised payment providers such as Stripe and Google Play. We do not store complete payment-card numbers.
- Device and technical information: app version, device type, operating system, diagnostic information and security logs needed to operate and protect the service.
- Support communications: information you provide when contacting customer support.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve Park Shield, create and manage accounts, locate and manage parking sessions, process subscriptions and payments, issue receipts, provide customer support, prevent fraud and misuse, maintain security, comply with legal obligations and communicate important service information.
4. Legal bases
Where UK data-protection law applies, we process personal information to perform our contract with you, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, and rely on consent where required, including for device permissions that you can control in your settings.

This may include Google Play, Stripe, Supabase, Railway and mapping or parking-service partners. We keep information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including providing the service, maintaining transaction and tax records, resolving disputes, preventing fraud and meeting legal requirements. Retention periods vary by data type and legal obligation.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections, access controls and trusted service providers. No system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You can manage camera, photo and location permissions through your device settings. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
To request deletion of your Park Shield account and associated personal information, email info@myparkshield.com with the subject “Park Shield account deletion”. We may retain limited information where legally required or necessary to prevent fraud and resolve disputes.

Park Shield is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
